Security Door Buying Guide
If you want to improve your home's security without compromising ventilation and fresh air, a security door is just what you need. Here's what to look for when you start the buying journey.
Choosing the best kind of door. Think about the amount of security you need, the look you want, and the amount you're willing to spend. Homes in higher-crime areas can benefit from a higher-end security door with high-grade steel mesh and a three-point locking system.
The right material. Most security doors use aluminium frames, which come with high-standard stainless steel mesh and don't rust the way steel does. Steel-framed doors tend to be of a more dated, heavy and bulky design.
Knowing what to look for. Unless your security door is manufactured according to Australian Standards, it won't offer any real protection - those Standards require doors to be tested for quality assurance.
